FULL-TIME SENIOR Publicist
(Temporary, 3-4 MONTHS)

H2 Public Relations is looking for an experienced senior publicist in our San Diego office to temporarily fill-in beginning in July. This full-time position will support our team while a colleague is out on maternity leave and will be instrumental in working with several of the most respected hospitality and lifestyle clients in Southern California, including: Urban Kitchen Group (Cucina Urbana, Cucina Enoteca, Cucina Sorella), Cohn Restaurant Group (Coasterra, Island Prime, Tacos Libertad, Draft Republic), Liberty Public Market, Seaport Village and more.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4.5+ years of prior agency experience mandatory (preferably in hospitality but not required)

  • Candidate should be a motivated, energetic and pro-active self-starter, who has exceptional experience in the AP writing format, as well as pitching and managing client accounts in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Must possess the ability to juggle many tasks at one time and change gears quickly

  • Candidate should have experience executing out-of-the-box client campaigns from conception to completion and will understand tailored angles, as well as the relevance of timely news hooks and trends

  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and be able to work in a flexible work environment (hours are not restricted to 9-5 p.m.). Candidate should also be willing to be attend events regularly.

  • Applicant should possess a proven portfolio of media contacts for local, regional and national media outlets

  • Applicant should also have experience managing a team publicists, junior publicists and interns by delegating assignments and deadlines, and fully overseeing their daily tasks, projects and expectations to support a larger strategy

  • She/He will be able to provide examples of secured media coverage in broadcast, print and online news outlets in the Southern California markets, but we'd also like to see examples of national placements as well

  • Applicant can demonstrate prior experience managing the interaction and daily affairs of client communication—from initiation to execution and beyond

FULL-TIME Junior Publicist / SOCIAL COORDINATOR
(Temporary, 4 MONTHS)

H2 Public Relations is looking for a junior-level publicist to temporarily join our San Diego team for a period of approximately 4 months, from early July through October to help cover an H2 team member on maternity leave. This full-time position will be instrumental in working with several of the most respected hospitality and lifestyle clients in Southern California, including: Urban Kitchen Group (Cucina Urbana, Cucina Enoteca, Cucina Sorella), Cohn Restaurant Group (Coasterra, Island Prime, Tacos Libertad, Draft Republic), Liberty Public Market, Seaport Village, and more. 

Outgoing personality, fantastic networking skills, extreme creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, multi-tasking, proficient AP writing skills and attention to detail in a deadline driven environment are necessary. This is a fantastic opportunity to be directly involved with the PR industry in San Diego and beyond. You will assist with the coordination of articles with editors and producers both regionally and nationally, in addition to photo shoots, events, launch parties, grassroots marketing campaigns, TV segments and much more. 

There is opportunity for this position to develop into a permanent role if workload allows following the initial temporary hire period.

Candidate Should Posses: 

  • Candidate should possess a Communications-related degree focusing on Public Relations, Journalism or an associated field.

  • Candidate should have completed prior internship programs in a newsroom or a PR setting. 

  • 1 year of prior agency experience is mandatory (preferably in hospitality, but not mandatory).

CHICAGO: part-time internship

H2 Public Relations is looking for a dynamic PR intern to join our small boutique agency in Chicago on a part-time basis. Internship will span a period of three months at 20 hours per week depending on workload/class schedule. **Course credit required for consideration **

The PR internship job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting on high-profile hospitality and restaurant accounts such as: Big Star, The Publican, Violet Hour, Blackbird, Fat Rice, Dusek’s, Revival Food Hall, HotChocolate, El Che, Big Star, The Publican, Violet Hour, Blackbird and more. 

  • Supporting all junior, mid-level and senior level publicists with tasks assigned and daily duties

  • PR Intern will be available to attend client meetings regularly and will assist senior account leads with meeting agendas and PR reports

  • Reviewing editorial calendars to identify personalized angles for each of the clients

  • Working in tandem with existing H2 team to further reach the goals of the clients
