A native Chicagoan, Mikaela's passion for the culinary arts and hospitality industry was sparked at a young age through her exposure to Chicago's vibrant neighborhoods and renowned restaurant scene. As a result, experiencing a city’s culture and history through local restaurants has become a must whenever visiting a new place.

Mikaela graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in marketing. Her experience spans social media management across multiple industries, media relations, and front-of-house roles within Chicago's restaurant scene. These experiences cultivated a deep appreciation for the stories behind each establishment, the people who bring them to life, and the communities they serve. Mikaela is excited to spotlight Chicago's most distinctive dining spots and their unique contributions to the city's ever-evolving culinary landscape.

Outside of work, Mikaela enjoys thrifting for vintage jewelry and furniture, traveling, live music, and taking group dance classes.
